My favorite place and best memories
YMCA Camp Chingachgook is my favorite place in the entire world. As a 3rd year camper, I feel safe and supported here. The counselors are very understanding and kind, and you make tons of friends both in and out of your cabin. There are 28 skills classes that you have the opportunity to do at camp; I have always felt that there has always been classes that was right for me even as my interests have changed over the years The food is very good, there are many options even if you have allergies or restrictions. The dining hall includes a cereal, fruit and yogurt bar at breakfast and a salad bar at lunch+dinner. There are 6 different sequins that you can choose from throughout the summer, 3 one week and 3 two week sessions. The 2 week session includes a 3 day overnight hiking and camping trip which I find a great time to reconnect with the outdoors. This camp also offers a day camp for kids aged 5-10 years old. This is a great option for siblings of overnight campers. This camp is truly an amazing place and I hope you’ll consider sending your camper here!
