Much better camps out there, don’t settle!

Our family left this camp feeling disappointed. From the outside it seems like a fun, traditional summer camp, but our experience was very different. The biggest concern was how the camp handled children who needed a little more support. It didn’t feel like staff were adequately prepared to work with kids who learn, socialize, or regulate differently. Rather than taking the time to understand individual children, it often felt like they were singled out instead of supported. Bullying and unkind behavior also didn’t seem to be addressed consistently. There were times when issues that should have been handled more seriously appeared to be brushed aside, which was concerning as a parent. Overall, the camp felt disorganized. Communication wasn’t always clear, staffing often seemed stretched thin, and there was an inconsistent experience from one situation to the next. It also gave the impression that some campers received different treatment than others, which made the environment feel less fair and inclusive. If you’re looking for a highly structured camp with strong leadership, clear communication, and staff who are experienced supporting a wide range of children, I would encourage you to ask a lot of questions before enrolling. Every family’s experience may be different, but ours was not a positive one, and we would not choose to return.
