Overall, a good experience!
My son went to Schodack as his first sleep away choice. Both he and we, as his parents, were attracted to the “family” atmosphere. You just felt like you were visiting someone’s home. And being welcomed with open arms. The issues were three, none of which should deter anyone, but for an honest review…1. The lake requires a bus ride to get there. Not convenient. 2. For an active boy, this is definitely not a sports focused or competitive camp. And 3. We dealt with a bed bug issue. The camp addressed it immediately and took it seriously, eradicating the problem. It’s in the mountains. There’s going to be bugs. It’s understandable, but, it can’t be ignored in a review. Overall, if your child is not sports focused, and if you don’t have an issue with the lake being off premises, this is a wonderful place that treats the kids like family the second they come for a visit.
