Camp Taconic is a traditional residential coed camp on Lake Ashmere in Hinsdale, Massachusetts, on 100 acres in the Berkshires. Around 550 campers ages 7–16 attend, most for the full seven weeks, with four-week options available. Taconic traditions have shaped generations of campers since 1932.

My son attended this camp for a few summers. It became apparent that the owners preferred campers who fit their expectations rather than those who marched to the beat of their own drum. It felt like they would rather have a child who was easier to manage than one with ADHD. Unfortunately, we found that the owners were not upfront or honest about this, which was disappointing.
