About Tapawingo (Adirondacks)
Tapawingo — 'place of joy' — is a Christian overnight camp for girls ages 9–17, set on its own island on the shores of Lake Pleasant in Speculator, New York, in the Adirondack Mountains. Founded in 1959 and part of the Camp-of-the-Woods ministry family, Tapawingo pairs classic camp life — swimming, boating, kayaking, sports, arts and crafts, campfires — with Bible study, Christ-centered relationships, and intentional mentorship in a joyful all-girls community. Not to be confused with Camp Tapawingo in Maine, a separate camp.
